What We Do
Utah Contract Sewing is a hands-on design and prototyping studio also featuring production facilities. We bring soft goods products to life. We partner with brands, startups, and inventors to develop sewn goods from idea to finished product.
With decades of experience in prototyping, contract sewing, pattern making, and technical engineering/tech packs, our expert team brings a workshop mentality and an industrial, creative touch to every project. We assist at every step, whether you’re fine-tuning a backpack, prepping for factory production, or crafting a single prototype or sample.
We thrive on collaboration and love turning concepts into real, manufacturable products. From first sketch to factory handoff, our team helps you navigate the complexities of soft goods development confidently.
Our Story
UCS was created in 2015 when founder, Evan Glassman, moved to Utah and couldn’t find a professional soft goods design firm that could help him with his project.
He pivoted from focusing on his product to helping other entrepreneurs and businesses with theirs. UCS has grown over the years to a multi-service soft goods design agency that leverages its contacts, experience, and talented designers to offer consistently excellent results for its clients.
The team today is talented, experienced, and diverse. Our mission is to bring clients visions and projects to life, in their highest form, utilizing best practices.

Founder
Evan has 30 years of experience in multidisciplinary design and specialty fabrication, informed by a fine arts background. Clients and collaborators include Meow, Wolf, Chicago Cubs, Rockwell Group, Hilton Corp., Sarcos Robotics, Dell Computer, Elkay, and the list goes on…
Kastle Christensen
Lead Designer
A true Utah Outdoorsman and highly creative, versatile, and empathetic designer with great hands-on prototyping skills, refined over more than a decade in this field. He is experienced with soft goods, hybrid, and hard goods. Kastle is a world class talent and stand up guy, who stays humble and connected.
